G'MIC 1.4.9.3 for Gimp 2.7.3

G'MIC 1.4.9.3 was released on May 19. See the announcement here and here. I have been working on getting the installation for 64-bit Windows 7 as painless as possible. I think I have that now. So, introducing G'MIC 1.4.9.3 64-bit for Windows 7. I also updated the 32-bit version in case you have downloaded Gimp 2.7.3 and are eager to test this version. Downloads are available from the sidebar. To install, simply double-click on the downloaded file. Please note that this version will not install if you don't have Gimp 2.7.3. It will abort if the installer does not find it in your registry. The reason for this is that I don't include some DLLs since they are already included in Gimp 2.7.3 that I have provided. However, I will package a zip file for earlier versions if there is demand for it. So, if you want it, please leave me feedback below. Thanks.

Introducing G'MIC for Gimp 2.7.3

With the help of the G'mic forum I have been able to compile gmic plugin for both 64-bit and 32-bit Windows Gimp 2.7.3. It is available for download from the sidebar. I am not an expert on gmic by any means. However, what I saw was quite impressive. So, check it out. One caveat, given the new API, please be aware that Gimp will throw up some warnings about deprecated function calls. For now you will have to live with it till the author or I fix those. But I think it is fully functional otherwise.

The zipfiles contain the following files

Installation

Unzip to any convenient folder that you have access to. Copy the file gmic_gimp.exe to the plug-ins directory either in your local user folder or the main Gimp plug-ins folder. Restart Gimp and it should be available at the bottom of the filters menu item.

Please let me know if you have any questions in terms of how to install. If you have any questions about usage, please consult the manual of stop by the GMIC forum.

If you wish to use the official version then Gimp 2.7.1 is available from here.
